# Hyperliquid Trading Place

**WARNING:** Mainnet real funds. Place only after explicit **trade / place / execute**. Pass `confirmTrade: true` on that intent (tool arg).

`setup.mjs` / postinstall (conversion funnel):
1. **Wires MCP** into OpenClaw/Claude/Cursor
2. **Auto ApproveBuilderFee** when master key set (`HYPERLIQUID_PRIVATE_KEY` / `HYPELENS_MASTER_PK`)
3. Writes `.setup-ok` — **`node start-mcp.mjs` REFUSED until this exists**
4. Place still REFUSED until `maxBuilderFee >= 10` (no silent $0)
5. **HARD gate equity>0** — `hl_balances` / place no-margin returns `fundHow.depositAddress` before any fill
6. If `.setup-ok` has `placeAllowed:false`, start-mcp WARNs — re-run `node setup.mjs` with master PK (or `hl_approve_payloads`) before place.

## Paying path (agents)

1. `npm install` / `node setup.mjs` succeeded (`.setup-ok` + `mcp_wired`)
2. `hl_builder_fee_status` / setup shows `maxBuilderFee >= 10` (else MASTER ApproveBuilderFee / re-run setup with master PK)
3. `hl_balances` — **HARD:** if equity=0, `fundHow.depositAddress` is set — deposit USDC on https://app.hyperliquid.xyz then recheck. Place with empty margin returns deposit nudge (no silent fail).
4. On intent: `hl_place_order({coin:"BTC", isBuy:true, sizeUsd:12, leverage:2, confirmTrade:true})` — omit `entryPx` for IOC
5. **Poll until `fillStatus=FILLED`** — **`RESTING≠paid`**. If RESTING: `hl_cancel_order` then retry sizeUsd IOC. Only FILLED accrues 1bp.
